Omaha the Bat Dog will also appear at the Lake Elsinore Storm game 8-23-2026. Omaha the Bat Dog will retrieve bats for Lake Elsinore Storm players twice each inning. The Storm hosts the San Jose Giants, the Class-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.

Omaha the Bat Dog will retrieve bats on the first batted ball into play and the third out of the first through sixth or seventh innings. (If the third out is a strikeout, caught stealing or a pick-off play, Omaha will not retrieve that bat.)

The Lake Elsinore Storm have been the Minor League Baseball (MiLB) Class-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres since 2001. 2026 marks Omaha the Bat Dog’s second full season with the Lake Elsinore Storm as their official bat dog.

This long-standing partnership represents over two decades of player development in the California League. Some notable Storm alumni include Jake Peavy, Chase Headley, Corey Kluber and Jackson Merrill.
