Come see Omaha the Bat Dog at the Orange County Riptide Game 7-1-2026. Omaha the Bat Dog will retrieve bats for OC Riptide players twice each inning. The Riptide hosts the Philippines Baseball Group, an affiliate of the California Collegiate League.
Omaha the Bat Dog will retrieve bats on the first batted ball into play and the third out of the first through sixth or seventh innings. (If the third out is a strikeout, caught stealing or a pick-off play, Omaha will not retrieve that bat.)
The Orange County Riptide has been a full member affiliate of the California Collegiate League since 2016. 2026 marks Omaha the Bat Dog’s third full season with the OC Riptide as their official bat dog.
Omaha made her debut with the OC Riptide June 9, 2024 and soon became a fan favorite with her adorable and hilarious antics.
The Orange County Riptide is a wood bat, summer collegiate baseball organization. The Riptide competes yearly from June through july each summer. Established in 2015, the OC Riptide provides the Orange County community with a family-friendly and affordable sports entertainment option during the summer months.
Competing in the California Collegiate League (CCL), the Orange County Riptide won the CCL Championship in 2017. The OC Riptide has appeared in the CCL Playoffs seven out of the last eight seasons.
The OC Riptide has produced numerous draft picks and players who have gone on to play professionally. Five Riptide alumni have advanced all the way to Major League Baseball including Caleb Kilian, Dominic Fletcher, Trey Lipscomb, Hunter Bigge and Eric Wagaman. 2026 marks the seventh season the OC Riptide has played home games at the Great Park in Irvine, California.
