The Omaha the Bat Dog Press Room is now open. A number of media articles and feature stories have appeared online since my debut. We now have them organized all in one place.
My Press Clippings
Despite the article’s focus on my bat dog friend Lucy May out in Clearwater, Florida, the biggest publication to include me was The Washington Post back on August 30, 2024. Now that the Press Room is now open, it also includes links to other articles. It includes my first one that appeared on the Orange County Riptide’s website entitled: Fetching Fame: Omaha the Bat Dog’s Success Story.
The most recent publication to feature me included the San Bernardino Sun. On September 6, 2024, Will Lester came out to the Inland Empire 66ers game and documented my bat retrieving skills. This came during the game vs. the Lake Elsinore Storm. He captured all kinds of photos including my arrival, getting warmed up pre-game with a flying disc and of course, retrieving bats in the bottom of the first inning.
Also since the Press Room is now open, we’ve added my inclusion as a calendar girl. I’m Miss January in the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue 2025 Calendar. After nominations and a voting period, I finished in the top three in voting. The folks at SCGRR chose me to lead off 2025 in January.
Announcement Coming
Although we are not quite ready to announce it just yet, we plan to announce my exclusivity with one of the Class-A Minor league teams in Southern California. After the Riptide season, I appeared at the Lake Elsinore Storm game for my minors debut. A week later I appeared at the Inland Empire 66ers. I rounded out my tour of the three minor league teams with a visit to Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. Which one of those teams will I be exclusive with in 2025? Stay tuned to find out soon.
Lastly, now that the Press Room is now open, we’ve included an easy and convenient way to get in touch with me if a member of the media would like to request an interview or to do a story. You can find that at the bottom of the Press Room page.
